Like most men, Todd Gallegos of Roy, Utah, loves trucks. For as long as he can remember, he has had a fascination with customizing trucks, whether they are toy trucks, mini trucks, or fullsize Crew Cab Silverados. After enjoying his previous build for a while, Todd picked up a completely stock 2007 classic Crew Cab Silverado. It didn't take long for the custom bug to start biting and Todd was itching to forever change the look of his Silverado.

The first stop for Todd was Phat Phabz in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to let Jake McKiddie work his magic on the suspension. The build began by lopping off the rear half of the frame and building a new back half. Next, Jake swapped the factory spindles for a set of McGaughy's drop spindles and installed a set of Firestone 'bags. For equal stance in the rear, a simple two-link with a wishbone provides the necessary vertical movement while keeping the rearend centered. The rearend was narrowed a total of six inches to accommodate Todd's plans for a big-lipped wheel in the rear. Looking for a clean appearance, Todd chose 22-inch and 24-inch Raceline Speedster 5 wheels and wrapped them in Nexen Roadian tires.

After only a few weeks, Todd had himself a killer slammed Silverado, but it wasn't as low as he had hoped. To change that, he sought the help of Brandon Bowden of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Brandon came in and helped tuck the Silverado's massive frame up under the truck. Next, the door handles, tailgate handle, gas filler, and antenna were shaved before any primer or paint was sprayed. Also, before spraying any paint, the bed floor was cut out in preparation for a wood floor. Finally, Cole Stevens and Ike Ray of Council Hill, Oklahoma, applied several coats of Wanda Red paint. To finish off the look, Cole taped off a set of his signature flames and sprayed them in yellow. This was sure to set Todd's truck apart from the other 'bagged Silverados in the show scene.

The last stop on Todd's custom truck journey was to Don Aldridge, also in Muskogee, to get the interior handled. Don wrapped the seats in cream Katzkin leather with red stitching. The door panels were also wrapped in cream leather with red leather inserts. While that was being completed, Brandon Bowden built a custom center console to fill the gap between the two bucket seats in the front. This center console is also home to the Kicker 12-inch L7 subwoofer. The rest of the system consists of Kicker components in the doors, two Kicker amps, and a Kenwood 7-inch touchscreen head unit. Other interior mods include a matching billet Raceline steering wheel, a painted and wrapped dash, a leather-wrapped headliner, and custom wood floor mats.

We were lucky to meet Todd at West Coast Nationals right after he finished his truck. He told us that he was just happy to see people appreciate his truck and compliment it. He wanted to thank both of his families: his wife and kids for their patience, love, and support, and his Severed Ties family for inspiring the over-the-top build.
