As part of our continued improvement for 2011, we’re opening up our Readers' Rap section to those of you having a hard time getting an answer to a tough truck question. Send in whatever is stumping you and if we can't answer it, or if we think your question is going to help out other people with a problem, we’ll send you free truck gear. It's just that easy. Also, if we did something to tick you off, did something that you liked, or even if you want to make a suggestion, feel free to contact us at and we'll do our best to respond. This month's free giveaway is a pair of Mechanix gloves to protect your mitts while turning those wrenches. For more info, check out

Hey guys,
I saw on your Facebook that you did a "Battle of the 6.2Ls" at Procharger with a Raptor and a Sierra. I was wondering if you could tell me the results of that. I am looking to buy a truck with the 6.2L and wondered which one made more horsepower.

Thank you for following us on Facebook and reading the magazine. We have not released the final numbers yet. That article will come out sometime in early 2012. Keep an eye out for it because we know the results will surprise you.

Dear Truckin' magazine,
I noticed a couple months back that you guys and Street Trucks had the same truck on the cover. How does somebody go about this? Did the two magazine’s coordinate or was it an accident?

Cory Laman

That was a very unique situation. We did not coordinate that. It was a matter of sheer luck that the truck ran on the two magazines at the same time. As you can imagine, it is undesirable for two magazines to have the same truck on the cover. We didn’t know about it until it was too late and there was nothing either magazine could do. The good thing about that rare coincidence is that it provided an oranges-to-oranges comparison on how differently the two of us approach a cover and feature shoot. 'Nuff said.

From our Facebook page:

What’s up Truckin',
I sent in a request to be a part of y’alls THROWDOWN event and didn’t hear back. Is that because my regular cab Chevy with an LS2 isn’t fast enough or was there a snafu in the email? I really want to be in the event, so please let me know.

Hey Duke,
Thank you for your interest in our THROWDOWN event. This year’s was a huge success and we will definitely be having it again next year. We apologize for not getting back to you, but we did have an influx of requests to be in our THROWDOWN event. Looking back, we didn’t receive your email and it may have gone to someone else by mistake. Keep up the good work making your truck fast, and check out all of the THROWDOWN coverage at
