Temperature Gauge Bully Dog Gauge

It used to be that pickups had all the glamour of a Texas cowhand after a month of driving cattle on the Shawnee Trail to Kansas City. Nowadays, however, most of the light to midsize trucks we cover in this magazine are street cruisers that look great and perform more like the professionally honed hall-of-famer John Henry Johnson than John Henry, the legendary steel-driving man. Even heavy-duty pickups are pretty upscale today. Be that as it may, if the hard work of hauling or trailering thousand of pounds of cargo needs to be done, chances are it's a heavy-duty truck that'll do it. Read on for a look at some products that can help you and your big pickup get the job done.

Good Dog!
When it comes to measuring your engine temperature as you pull or haul that heavy load, your engine's temperature gauge is about as informative as a panting dog on a hot summer walk. Bully Dog's Outlook Monitor monitors the temperature of your diesel engine with precision. It's an LCD that mounts on your dash or windshield and simultaneously displays four engine information readouts from a choice of 13 engine conditions that include turbo boost pressure, pre- and post-turbo exhaust gas temperature, ICP pressure, speed, engine rpm, horsepower, torque, and transmission slip. The monitor also de-fuels the engine if it exceeds the user-specified maximum temperature. It works with all performance upgrades, including other brands of performance modules and downloaders. This means a driver can adjust a non-adjustable chip or downloader inside the cab and on-the-fly. The monitor will also allow you to change the tire size, and it scans and erases engine trouble codes. So far, the Outlook is available for the '99-'03 Ford 7.3L Power Stroke and '03-'04 6.0L Power Stroke. For more information, contact: Bully Dog Technologies, Dept.
