Bad Medicine
The staff of Truckin' has always had a soft spot for '67-'72 Chevy C10 pickups and when this bright-yellow beauty popped up at last year's Texas Heat Wave we had to bring it to you on paper. Dubbed "Bad Medicine," this truck sports a shaved exterior, bright-yellow liquid covering the smooth sheetmetal, and a can-crushing stance that's tough to top. Catch a glimpse of some of the retina-burning shots we ran out of space for in the printed feature article
The '70s body-style Ford pickups have never really caught on with custom truck enthusiasts. So, when we spotted this ultra-cool '76 model sporting airbag suspension, a clean shave, and 20-inch American Racing wheels with painted centers, our cameras couldn't be drawn from their holsters fast enough. Check out this super-clean Blue Oval in the next issue.
Classic Suburbans from the late-'60s and early '70s are rare these days. The classic three-door configuration gives them a unique look, and when one is slammed to the ground with trick paint, the cool factor is increased. We spotted this sanitary '69 model at a show last summer and just had to roll it in front of our lenses. Take a peek at this slammed, rim-stuffing custom Sub next month.
Prerunner-style trucks have become a prominent part of the custom truck scene. Stillen in Costa Mesa, California, recently put together a pair of rugged Nissan prerunner-style rides to promote the company's products and to go out and get dirty. Get a closer look at Stillen's custom Nissan Titan and Frontier next time.
Elevated Excursion
Throwing a four-link and airbags on an Excursion to achieve a massive lift is not something you see everyday. Recently, we had the opportunity to witness the installation of such a system from Kelderman Air Ride on an '02 Ford Excursion at the Custom Truck Shop in San Dimas, California. This highly involved install kept us on our toes the whole time we photographed. Investigate some of the shots that we couldn't squeeze into this tech article.
Slamfest!
Every year, a member of our staff hops on a plane at the tail end of the show season and travels to Tampa, Florida, to cover the annual Slamfest event hosted by Mini Madness. Risking life and limb in hurricane country, we'll cover this wild custom truck party and bring you the coolest Florida show trucks we can find. Take a look at some of the action from this year's event.
