For listening pleasure, the truck has a Panasonic head unit with two 12-inch Rockford subwoofers powered by a 500-watt Rockford amplifier. Clean Street MachineIt doesn't get any cleaner than this '99 Dodge Dakota R/T. The truck is the property of Scott Dupointe of Griswold, Connecticut. The long list of modifications include a Shelby Durango air dam, a Cervini's SS hood, mesh grille inserts, PIAA lights, a Checkmate carpet kit, a flush tonneau, and a welded roll pan with a frenched license plate. Scott didn't forget performance modifications. The addition of a Mopar Performance air cleaner, Holley Flowtech headers, and a Spintech exhaust system greatly enhanced the ponies under the hood. The Dodge sits on Center Line Lexi IV wheels mounted with Goodyear GT II tires. The interior features APC white-face gauges, Corbeau seats, and a Clarion CD player with a Sony XM2 series amplifier powering three 10-inch JL subwoofers.
Above-Average GMCNick Lachman of Livermore, California, isn't your average truck enthusiast. He wanted his '01 GMC Sierra to stand out from the average grocery getter, and to accomplish this, he started by giving the vehicle a 2/4 drop with Belltech components. He then proceeded to install 20x8.5-inch KMC Venom's encased in Yokohama radials. The rear of the pickup features a Sir Michaels steel roll pan, a Line-X spray-on bedliner, and a Leer bed lid. Performance is also above average. The GMC features a K&N intake, a Hypertech programmer, and dual Flowmasters. Nick also wanted an above-average stereo setup. The system includes an Eclipse in-dash DVD player, two 12-inch JL Audio W7 subwoofers powered by two Rockford Fosgate amplifiers, and one JL Audio 300x2 for the 6-inch door speakers.
Road WarriorKen Bailey of Kentwood, Michigan, has been a loyal reader for more than 20 years. To prove his loyalty, he has every copy of Truckin' since the Feb. '80 issue. Ken's '96 GMC Sonoma features a bedliner, a flush-mount tonneau, and a sunroof. The engine bay has a V-6 backed by JBA headers, a Gibson exhaust, and a K&N filter charger system. The interior has leather seats, a Kenwood head unit with a 10-disc Kenwood CD changer, Sony speakers, and a 10-inch subwoofer in a Q-custom enclosure pushed by an Alpine amplifier. The GMC also features tinted windows, 3-D taillights, and American Racing wheels encased in Bridgestones.
An Outspoken SonomaBrodie Cochran of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, owns this cool '96 GMC Sonoma, nicknamed Outspoken - we guess because his truck does all the talking. The truck runs a 4.3L Vortec engine with a K&N filter, Taylor racing wires, and dual exhaust for added performance. The exterior's upgrades include Euro taillights, a billet antenna, a tonneau, a hood guard, window vents, and shaved emblems. The GMC rides on a 2-inch rear drop using Belltech blocks and 17-inch Eagle 212 wheels wrapped in aftermarket skins. Inside the cab, the Sonoma features power leather seats, white-face gauges, and a JVC CD player with remote. Now that's a statement.
