Dixieland Delivery
This is the third custom truck for Joe Wilson of El Dorado, Arkansas. Everything in this '02 GMC Sierra Delivery is custom, down to the tailgate, which was shaved and had the latch relocated to the inside. The rearend was lowered 2 inches and sits on P285/60R18 Goodyear Eagle GT IIs and 18-inch Prime wheels. Under the cowl-induction hood, the 5.3L engine was tweaked with a Hypertech Power Programmer III and a K&N fuel-injection performance kit. Joe set up the interior with white-face gauges, a custom carbon-fiber steering wheel, and a full-length overhead wood console.
Smooth Custom
As part of the Smooth Customs Club, Tatum Alexander of Bradford, Tennessee, spent a lot of time upgrading his '01 Chevy S-10. Up front, he added a custom billet grille, Clear Corners and Xenon headlights, a chrome billet Bow Tie, and a neon underbody kit. As far as the interior goes, Tatum has a Ractive tachometer, a chrome billet shifter, and APC racing pedals. The next upgrade will be a custom airbag setup.
A First For Everything
Before purchasing this '01 Chevy 1500 Z71, Lonnie Quinlivan of Lodi, California, had never owned a 4x4. Thanks to Dentoni's Custom Truck Works in Stockton, California, modifications were made simple. Some of the work performed included a K&N filter charger system, a Flowmaster exhaust with two chambers and 4-inch tips, and a Smittybilt Double Double rollbar with four Pro Comp lights. Lonnie wanted to go bigger than the other four-bys in the neighborhood, so he went with a 12-inch Full Throttle suspension and a 5-inch body lift, sitting on 16.5x12 Weld Racing Typhoon wheels. In the future, he would like to add a full chrome suspension system, custom graphics, and a supercharger.
Burn'n Money
Gary Weatherly of Baytown, Texas, definitely burned some money - for good reason - on this truck. It features a 3-inch body lift and 10-inch suspension lift, Weld Racing wheels, and 38-inch tires. The interior is fitted with a flamed headliner, a billet dash and door panels, and billet flamed pedals. This is some daily driver.
Peninsula Punch
Edgar Olazabal of San Mateo, California, owns this '01 Chevy Silverado. There are so many modifications on this truck, we can't possibly list them all. Luckily, his girlfriend sent us a scaled-down list suitable for Readers' Rides. We'll start with the chrome grille, shaved tailgate, Escalade handles, icy-blue headlights, tinted side windows, and V-tech third light cover. Edgar lowered the truck 2 inches and put 23-inch wheels inside P305/35R23 Pirellis. He is very proud of his truck, but admits there is still a lot to work on.
Buster Makes It
Commonly known around town as Buster, this '99 Dodge Dakota four-wheel drive, owned by Diane Zimmer of Defiance, Ohio, has not had an easy life. He went through a horrific paintjob which faded in two weeks, so he had to go through another before being customized. Luckily, Diane chose DuPont Hot Hues tri-coat Royal Red with Violet Pearl on top and Ultraviolet on the pinstripe. Buster sports a MagnaFlow dual exhaust, a K&N air filter, and drilled and slotted rotors with Performance Friction pads. A soft tonneau and Westin side bars take care of the bed in style. Buster is getting ready for a set of pink underbody lights. Way to pull through, Buster.
Chevy Nut
Benji Watson, a Ford dealership service manager from Mountain City, Tennessee, is a not-so-secret Chevy fanatic. He flaunts his '99 S-10 Extreme around the shop, only to be ridiculed by his Ford-loving co-workers. Maybe having this picture in Truckin' will change their minds. Under the hood is a Vortec 4.3L V-6 with an automatic trans. He installed an AIRAID cold-air intake, a throttle-body spacer, and a two-chamber Flowmaster dual exhaust system. Exterior upgrades include a Trenz billet Bow Tie and grille, APC diamond clear headlights and corners, and 17x8-inch American Racing Hopster polished alloy wheels. However, Benji still has many plans for this Chevy.
