Speed Racer
At 16, Matt Bush bought a basic, hard-working, daily driven '84 1/2-ton Chevy C10. Six years later, it has become the race truck he always dreamed of. His list of modifications may be the longest list we've ever received. Just a few of these include a 4-1/2-inch drop in the front and 5-inch drop in the rear, a phantom grille, chrome wheels, street-racing rubber, an Edelbrock Performer intake, and a custom-painted engine compartment. And that's just the exterior. Interior mods include a 13-inch chrome steering wheel, a Pioneer CD player pushed by a 600-watt Kenwood amp, and Camaro bucket seats. The truck's consistent 8.8s in the 1/8-mile run helped him to win first place for the whole street class in his home town. We're sure there will be more to come, Matt.
Anger Management
Kevin Riverburgh of Bristol, Connecticut, has transformed his Chevy '01 2500 HD from stocker to shocker. This truck features the stock Sunset Orange color with custom Chevy Bow Tie ghost flames. Underneath this bad boy is a 6-inch lift powered by a 6.0L Vortec with a Powerdyne supercharger. When Kevin needs a little Zen time, he just takes this puppy on a few off-road rough rides and calls it a day.
Sold!
When Kevin Arndt of Crestwood, Illinois, saw the For Sale sign on this '91 Chevy 1500 Extended Cab, he jumped at the opportunity to buy it. With customizing in mind, he added a dual Flowmaster exhaust, a performance chip, a GMC front clip, and APC clear corners. The 6-inch drop on this large-and-in-charge Bow Tie accompanies the 15-inch Vette Ralley wheels with Monte Carlo center caps. Kevin would like to thank his best friend and family for helping him acquire the truck of his dreams. Looks like you're back in the sport and ready to stay, Kevin.
Carrie
With a name like Carrie, you know this truck is bad. Carrie, an '01 Ford Lightning, belongs to Josh Taylor of Reading, Pennsylvania. Josh made sure his girl wouldn't be the laughing stock at the prom this year. The truck has a Stage 3 ram-air kit, a Diablo sport chip with a warm weather street program, and Denso spark plugs under the hood. Her exterior consists of a Gaylord hard tonneau and a billet upper and lower grille. An Alpine in-dash 6-inch screen and a PlayStation accentuate her interior, making her the most popular girl in school.
Fort Benning Beauty
Sergeant Major Leon Fowler, Jr. of Columbus, Georgia, owns this super-custom '97 Ford F-150. This 4.6L Triton-equipped Ford travels from the army base to truck shows in style. The truck's Belltech suspension and V-8 will make any private beg for mercy. Goodyear rubber wraps its Boze wheels, and a K&N filter has been installed to clean the hot and humid Georgia airflow. The final attention to detail will be the custom seat inserts to match the paintjob. We think he's served his country well.
Eye Catcher
This '98 Chevy S-10 became a project truck for Matthew Kee of Franklin, Indiana. Making it his goal to make his truck a definite eye-catcher, ideas came like the splashes of bright tribal graphics on his pickup. First, Eagle Alloy wheels were installed, then the truck was dropped. Next up were the grille, mirrors, and plastic parts, which were all stripped and painted white. But seriously, are you really looking at the parts? We didn't think so. We can't even get past that killer paintjob.
Seeing is Believing
The old saying you have to see it to believe it holds true when talking about Robert Summersett's '93 Chevy 1500. While vacationing six years ago, he wanted something to read while on the beach, so he picked up his first copy of Truckin'. While looking through the magazine, he began to envision customizing his truck, and the rest is history. He immediately began ordering parts, including a 2/4 Belltech lowering kit, a B&M supercharger, Euro sport mirrors, and BFGoodrich g-Force rubber wrapping 18-inch Weld Evo Velociti wheels. Thank for picking up the magazine, Robert, and keep checking out our features for more great ideas for your truck.
Ground Pounder
Kenny Thompson of Deale, Maryland, is the proud owner of this '97 Chevy S-10. Kenny's project began when he gave the truck a 4/5 drop with Ground Force springs. The truck sparkles with 15-inch Eagle Alloy wheels, and the nose of the truck was modified with a phantom grille. A hardtop tonneau was installed and a K&N intake added. The interior is custom in black and gray with flamed designs in the door panels. A Panasonic CD player with 800 watts of sound make heads turn when they hear Kenny coming.
Three Years Of Sweat
Finally, after three years, this '90 Chevy S-10 Blazer is set to cruise the streets of Northampton, Pennsylvania, with its proud owner Ryan Zernhelt. With some Eagle Alloy 20s and Hankook Ventus Sport rubber, it's definitely looking the part. The truck's exterior color is Metallic Fire Red and has a 3/3 drop thanks to a Belltech suspension. On the sound side, a Kenwood head unit with Polk Audio speakers and subwoofers were installed.
This Time It's A Keeper
It seems as though Howie Jacobi of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, buys and customizes trucks as a daily hobby. He purchases a new Dodge Ram every two years. Most of the time he begins by lifting them, but this time, when this '02 Dodge Ram was purchased, he knew it was a sign when he didn't find a lift kit, but instead, a drop kit. So he dropped the truck, added 23-inch Momo wheels and Toyo tires, then went to work on the interior. He added flames on the headrest and added an Alpine screen and PlayStation for entertainment. For sound, the Dodge is packed with 28-inch subwoofers and a 4-inch Pro Pipe.
Check Out Those Wheels
This high-class Chevy S-10 belongs to Ricky Carson of Henderson, Tennessee. The truck roams around on beautiful 20-inch Boyd Coddington Meridian wheels wrapped by Kumho rubber. A Ram Air hood, a billet grille, and diamond headlights were installed to accentuate the shiny wheels. The truck was lowered 3 inches in the front and 4 inches in the rear, and for booming sound, 10-inch subs and a 500-watt amp were installed. If we saw those wheels cruising by, we'd definitely give this pickup a second, maybe even a third, look.
Dragon Nights
Pablo Miguel of George Town, Utah, is the owner of this '93 GMC Extra Cab. His truck slowly turned into a project two years ago by having the front dropped 3 inches with a DJM suspension and the rear dropped 4 inches. Pablo went a step further and added a phantom grille, five-spoke 17s, and Falken tires. After future plans of upgrading his truck are finished, Pablo will keep us posted.
Lumber 1
Twenty-nine-year-old lumber salesman Dave Harrison of Covington, Georgia, bought this '00 Ford F-150 to help beat his competitors when getting to job sites. The power under its hood comes from a Triton V-8, and the truck is equipped with an Airmax cold-air intake, a B&M Shift Improver Kit, and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system. What really influences Dave to speed to the job sites is the heart-jumping 800 watts of MA amp power and 10-inch subs. The truck runs on 16-inch rolling stock, and additions include a billet grille, vent visors, a bug shield, and to lug all of that lumber around in style, Daystar 1-1/2-inch coil springs. You have to look good even while working, right?
Standin' Out
The folks in Fallon, Nevada, frequently see Garret Giovanetti running around loose in his '90 Chevy K1500 Silverado. With a '98 GMC grille installed, filled stake hole pockets, and all the spot welds smoothed behind the cab and rocker panels, we're sure the local residents turn their heads when Garret screams through town. The truck also has a shaved tailgate, tinted side windows, and 35-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrains.
