Editor's Note: Getting your truck into Readers' Rides is a snap-of the camera, that is. All it takes is a couple of good-quality photos of your ride that are in focus and well-lit. Due to the volume of mail we receive, we regret that we cannot return photographs. Please shoot and send photos of your truck only (no people, pets, Polaroids, or printouts) to: Truckin' Magazine, Readers' Rides, 2400 E. Katella Ave., Ste. 700, Anaheim, CA 92806. It is important that you include a detailed description of the modifications you have made to your truck, including any interesting stories behind it. This can include information about the buildup or any special history the truck has.
Black LicoriceKirk Oates of New Blaine, Arkansas, has transformed his everyday pickup into eye candy. This '98 Chevy Silverado features a billet GMC grille, along with Euro lenses and a smooth front bumper. It all began with a Chassis Tech 5/7 drop before going through an all-over paintjob to convert the body to straight black. Kirk then bolted on Equus 18-inch wheels for rolling style. For sound quality, Kirk installed two Kenwood 12-inch subs for booming sound. His plans include the addition of a Hypertech power programmer and some minor engine upgrades.
Ram 4UThis '04 Dodge Ram 1500 belongs to Duane Garrett of Sikeston, Missouri. It has been upgraded with all-white, monochromatic paint, and a hard tonneau cover. Adding some attitude and horses, the SRT-10-inspired ram-air hood looks perfect atop the truck's grille. Black limo tint keeps onlookers curious and lets Duane enjoy cruising in private.
CaderadoRichard and Janine Westlake of Columbia, Missouri, began their project with this '97 Chevy Silverado by installing an '00 Cadillac Escalade clip and '68 Cadillac Coupe De Ville taillights. The frame has been filled and smoothed, and a paintjob was done with House of Kolor Blue Blood Red along with some graphics. The truck rides on a 10-inch lift with 39.5-inch TSL mud-bogger rubber wrapping Center Line wheels.
