ROBBING THE PARTS BIN
Stephen Frames' Sierra takes its styling cues from several GM trucks, with '03 Chevy taillights, Denali headlights, and a Silverado SS fuel filler door. The truck rides on Hankook Ventu's and 20x8-inch Centerline Escapes, and gets its stance from ART Coolride cups on DJM 4-inch drop arms and a KP Components four-link in the rear. Inside the color-matched interior are two 10-inch Rockford Fosgate subs, a JBL mono amp, and a Pioneer head unit.
SCREAMING YELLOW
San Diego-native Kene Ovenshire's '05 F-350 4x4 rides on a 4-1/2-inch Donahoe Racing lift, 22x11-inch KMC Backseat wheels, and 325/50/22 Nitto Terra Grappler A/T's. Amp Research steps ease ingress, and a shaved tailgate tidies up the rear profile. Contrasting the blinding yellow are tinted lights and fender badges, and a black chrome grille.
WILMA!
Billy Hanlon of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, was storing his '01 Ranger when Hurricane Wilma came through town and did a number on it. A three-inch lift, 33-inch tires, and an EZ Locker added off-road ability, while a Flowmaster exhaust, a Streetsmart Design air intake, and a Superchip added some extra power. Hopefully Billy will be able to get another project off the ground soon.
A CLEAN CANVAS
David Sandor's '97 Silverado rides on a 5/7 drop and 20-inch Boss wheels. Under the hood are a K&N cold air intake, shorty headers, and dual exhaust flowing through Magnaflow mufflers. The body features a cowl hood, billet grille and Bow Tie, a Lo Rider tonneau cover, shaved tailgate, and a roll pan. Inside, entertainment comes from a Pioneer AVIC-N2, Kenwood amp, and two Clarion 10-inch subs. Next up for David is paint, 'bags, and a new powertrain for yet more power.
MAGNUM SMALL-BLOCK
This '97 Dakota belongs to Dale Williams, who bought the 360-powered midsizer with several modifications already completed. You can see the cowl-induction hood, roll pan, and tonneau cover, but most mods focus on performance. Gibson headers, a K&N intake, an MSD ignition, and a B&G computer up the power; and a Transgo shift kit and 2,800-stall torque converter help the truck survive launches.
NEVER-ENDING PROJECT
Gary Watson of Hallettsville, Texas, has owned this '98 F-150 since it was brand new and doesn't plan on selling his ongoing project any time soon. To name just a few of his upgrades: He's smoothed and painted several interior pieces, lowered the ride height with a DJM kit, added Gibson exhaust, and built his own sub enclosure for JL audio subs. Powering those subs are a JL amp and Jensen DVD head unit with a 7-inch monitor. Gary also added silver stripes to match his 20x9-inch Fondmetal wheels.
TO FLAME OR NOT TO FLAME
Larry Reisnouer of Spokane, Washington, has been thinking about adding flames to his '89 Chevy Stepside, but he can't quite bring himself to abandon the monochromatic look he's got now. His Chevy sports a shaved tailgate and emblems and wears a GMC grille. Ride height was dropped with 2-inch spindles and 'bags in the rear. This Chevy serves as Larry's daily driver all year, provided his air dam doesn't have to serve as a snowplow.
