Race-Ready R/TEven though Henry Ring's '99 Dakota R/T has a 2/3 drop, Street Scene speed grilles, and a Cervini hood, it keeps a low profile that doesn't alert onlookers to what's under the hood. The 5.9L V-8 has many of the most popular mods, such as a K&N intake, a Flowmaster exhaust, and a PowerAid throttle-body spacer; but Henry took it a step further. Hidden inside of an inconspicuous tool-box in the bed, a 15-lb NOS bottle feeds the Mopar small-block an additional 100 hp to shred the tires.
Flamed And FlakedAside from some help with pinstriping and airbrushing, Chris Lorey of Hanover, Pennsylvania, completed the build of his '95 Chevy 1500 all by himself. As an autobody technician, Chris had no qualms about swapping on a Cadillac clip and completely shaving a fleetside bed and roll pan, where a Stepside once lived. All facets of the truck have several coats of House of Kolor flake with rainbows everywhere, except for the flames, which are orange and gold.
GraphicChevyRay Daley sent us a ton of information on his '88 Chevy, and we don't have nearly the space it would take to list it all, so here are the highlights. The 5.7L V-8 crate motor breathes through ceramic-coated headers, a K&N filter, and a CFM Technologies throttle-body. A Goodmark cowl-induction hood joins Street Scene mirrors and a '94 grille with billet inserts add character to the truck's lines. To truly stand out, several candy colors-including Oriental Blue, Orange Glow, and Sunset Yellow-were sprayed over a PPG Prismatique base in graphics that sweep across the truck and tear away from the bed.
Boss5.4Kevin Grayble bought this '03 F-150 truck brand-new from his local Maryville, Tennessee, Ford dealer. Kevin told us that there were only 25 produced with the white rally stripes and stage 4 Boss package. So, to keep his rare truck mostly intact, Kevin has only added a Gaylord Speedsturr tonneau, an Airaid cold air intake and a throttle body spacer. Everything else you see, from the orange paint to the Cobra cowl-induction hood and ground effects, came as part of the package.
Open-Top SilveradoThis '02 Silverado owned by Kevin McPherson rides on 20-inch Panther wheels and a 2/4 drop. A cowl-induction hood, Escalade-style door handles, billet grille, and roll pan take the place of boring factory pieces on the outside. Inside, a Pioneer head unit and a Kicker sub and amp break the silence while Kevin cruises the streets of Stuttgart, Arkansas.
