Mr. Sergeant
After 22 years in the Army, 1st Sergeant John Bowman retired and became a teacher. His students seem to like his '05 Dodge Rumble Bee, and we can see why. It has a 5.7L Hemi that sounds plenty quick, thanks to a 3.92 limited-slip differential, JBA headers, a Gibson exhaust, a Poweraid throttle-body spacer, and a custom Hambeck intake. The stance comes from 20-inch Diablo wheels and a McGaughys 2/4 drop. A host of Mopar accessories were also added, including an SRT-10 hood, a tonneau, and an oil-pressure gauge pod. Finally, the interior features Katzkin seats and a JVC DVD/CD receiver.
Higher and Higher
Kenny Christopherson bought his '03 Chevy when he was a senior in high school. After removing the 4-inch lift that was on the truck, a 6-inch Fabtech lift took its place, which was courtesy of Hooze 4x4 in Ham Lake, Minnesota. A twin-scoop hood, PIAA lights, and side steps were also bolted on before Blue Line Collision in Ramsey, Minnesota, painted everything to match and added flames. It sounds like Kenny has definitely caught the custom-truck bug, because he's likely to add a 12-inch Full Throttle lift and upgrade the engine to a 6.0L.
Waiting
Sergeant Kyle Wright is stationed in Germany, while his '06 Explorer is in Chicago, so he's got plenty of time to plan his next set of upgrades. So far, he's color-matched his dash and center console and added Rockford Fosgate subs in a Q-Logic box, along with a T1001bd amp, and T1682S and T1682C components in the doors. He has 22-inch Limited wheels now, but 24s are slated to go on soon. Good luck with your project, Sergeant!
Droppin' Soon
Matt Olson is currently awaiting a Belltech lowering kit for his '02 Blazer. His first modifications were an intake and exhaust for the 4.3L V-6, and then lighting upgrades from TYC, Halo, and APC. Inside of the Blazer, Matt enjoys a Sony Xplod audio System. Kumho tires and 18-inch Eagle Alloys are ready for the new suspension and body kit that should be going on shortly.
Farm Rod
Jeff Giglia didn't have much to say about his '53 Chevy, but he did send in come cool photos and told us it's sitting on a '91 S-10 chassis. We love the look of the deep lips of the Torq-Thrust wheels, and the farm-rod look is perfect for '48-'55 Chevy trucks.
Black-Out Effect
Twenty-one-year-old Tony Nicks of Joshua, Texas, dropped his '03 Silverado 2 inches and added a Street Scene vented roll pan with mesh inserts, a lower front valance, and an open-mouth grille. To complete the blacked-out look, Tony removed the bedrail and tailgate caps and added Cal-vu mirrors and Escalade door handles. Twenty two-inch NS Racing wheels and Nitto 420s rubber provide the grip. Inside of the cab, you'll find a center console from an Extended Cab truck, a Jensen head unit, and Nu Image white face gauges. For added performance, Tony added a Hypertech programmer and a Flowmaster 40 series exhaust. Aside from the paint by Accurate Paint and Body in Burleson, Texas, Tony's done all of the work himself.
