To get your truck featured in Readers' Rides, email a high-resolution photo of your truck to John.Mata@sorc.com. Send in a front or profile shot, and make sure it's big enough. We print at a much higher resolution than a website, which means sending links to photos posted online won't necessarily work. Images should be about three megabytes. Also, include plenty of information about yourself, your truck, and your full name. If you want to get your ride noticed by posting it on Truckin' Readers' Rides Online, go to rides.truckinweb.com. Upload as many as 20 photos of your vehicle, along with a detailed description.
Gold Finger Edition
Anthony Pasquale from Boston, Massachusetts, has spent lots of time fixing up his '02 Ford Explorer, which has been affectionately nicknamed "Gold Finger" by Mrs. Pasquale. The 4.6L engine has been rebuilt with a new Cobra crank, high-compression pistons, performance heads and cams, a Typhoon intake and custom short headers. Anthony also has a 175hp shot of nitrous all bottled up and ready to blast off. A set of 20-inch Giovanna wheels and Toyo tires has been bolted onto the Explorer as was a 2/3 suspension drop and vertical opening front doors. Anthony drives his truck everyday during the warmer months, so expect to see it hitting corners around Bean Town just after the spring thaw.
Starving Student
A student's schedule has proven to be the perfect time for starting a custom truck project. Having mornings or afternoons off really helps in getting things done. If you don't believe it, take a look at Donavan James' '03 Chevy S-10. During his off time from the campus of Cal Sate Fresno, Donavan has managed to fully 'bag his truck and fully customize the interior. For sounds, this S-10 has a 12-inch MTX sub and two 12-inch Kicker subs connected to a 7-inch Jensen touch screen head unit. For rolling attire, Donavan selected 20-inch chrome Iroc wheels. We guess Donavan isn't exactly starving if he has the resources to hook his dime up like this!
Dangerous Dodge
17-year-old Corey John Burditt has been working on his '70 Dodge D100 relentlessly and has just completed a 413ci engine, which will be dropped in under the hood any time now. Corey's main objective during his build is to raise awareness of the potential of custom, classic Dodge trucks. Hey, we couldn't agree more. With all the gearhead goodies going into the Dodge, Corey will definitely have a head-turning hauler both on the show scene and on the dragstrip as well!
