To get your truck featured in Readers' Rides, email a high-resolution photo of your truck to John.Mata@sorc.com. Send in a front 3/4 or profile shot, and make sure it's big enough. We print at a much higher resolution than a website, which means sending links to photos posted online won't necessarily work. Images should be about three megabytes. 4th Time's the Charm
Well, at least for Jay Schwall, from Marietta, Ohio, it is. He has changed the suspension system on his '03 Ford F-350 Super Duty 4x4 four different times and he is finally a satisfied man. Jay found that a One Up Off-Road 16-inch coilover system would fit the bill and deliver the amazing ride quality and function he was after. A set of 20x12-inch Weld Racing Cheyenne wheels have been dipped in 40-inch Toyo Open Country M/T rubber, which allows for serious off-road handling. The MBRP cat-back exhaust and Superchips Cortex programmer that Jay installed doesn't hurt for additional grappling power either.
Life's a Beach
Well, it would be for you too if you had the privilege of waking up everyday to a truck like Jake Kozlowski's '03 Dodge Ram 1500. His truck is Hemi-equipped and has been given a performance boost in the way of a Mopar Performance cam, K&N intake, JBA headers, and a Flowmaster Super 44 series muffler. For additional exterior styling, Jake dropped his Dodge with a DJM 2/4 kit and threw on a set of U2 55 22-inch wheels. Anzo headlights and taillights also made their way onto the Ram, as did a Sir Michaels roll pan and Street Scene speed grille. Jake is definitely cruising the Florida coast in style.
Aloha Style
Marco Tadeo, from Oahu, Hawaii, was lucky enough to receive this '90 Chevy truck from his father while still in high school. Marco did all of the body, paint and suspension work himself since he worked for a collision repair shop in college. AIM 2-inch drop coils and 2-inch spindles brought the Chevy's nose closer to the pavement and the rear end was flipped and lowered 6 inches. Marco plans on installing a full Air Ride Technologies setup soon to drop the truck even lower! This is Marco's first custom build and judging from the results, we're sure he'll build another awesome custom in the near future!
Daddy's Toy
Kevin Revie, from Springfield, Missouri, made a promise to himself and his kids to keep the family '07 Chevy Avalanche in stock condition. Hmm...this should sound familiar to many of our readers. Well, needless to say, that promise expired after a brief six-month period! Kevin slapped on a set of 20-inch Boss Motorsports wheels and 285/50R20 Cooper rubber. Future plans for the Revie Avalanche include a cold air intake and a rumbling exhaust. Keeping things simple is always a safe bet.
