Trophy Pulling Chevy
When Jonathan Shea, from Mays Landing, New Jersey, started to rip into his '00 Chevy Silverado, he didn't quite grasp just how far he would take his custom truck. Before he knew it, his ride was lowered with a Ground Force 4/6 kit and his doors had been outfitted with AutoLoc's Lambo door hinges. Interior accents have been painted blue and a full audio/video system has been wired up for the ultimate in entertainment value. Jonathan's Chevy has just taken 3rd place at the '08 Carlisle All Truck Nats in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and 2nd place at the '06 Low Rollers End of Summer Bash in Salem, New Jersey.
The '07 Ford F-150 is just a great truck to serve as the centerpiece for any custom build. James Carey, from Hinton, Oklahoma, can certainly agree as he threw on a set of 23x10-inch Falken Atlantic City wheels complete with matching Falken tires. The factory intake tubing and exhaust system have been chucked and replaced with a better breathing K&N FIPK and Thrush exhaust setup. James even installed a set of headers and reached for a programmer to extract the best performance out of his Ford. Future plans include a leveling kit, one that we would like to see more of, actually. Instead of boosting the front a couple of inches, James wants to drop the rear-goodbye rake!
Stuck Up 'Hoe
It didn't take Zachary Smith long for him to lift his '08 Chevy Tahoe 4WD into the stratosphere using a Fabtech 8-inch, and a rear 6-inch long-arm setup. A rear S-Max 2-inch coil spacer, Fabtech dual steering stabilizer, and Rancho dual shock hoops were also enlisted to help out with ride quality. Zach selected a set of 20-inch MB Off-Road Gunner 6 wheels and Toyo Open Country 38x15.50R20 tires to rip around town with, which was an excellent choice if you ask us. Zach's Tahoe has a tough yet elegant vibe, which works great with the updated factory appearance.
Ian Pierce from Clovis, New Mexico, is a window tinter by trade and as soon as he parked his '07 GMC Sierra in his driveway, he wasted little time pouring money and hours into it. The 22-inch Boss wheels, were color-matched to the truck's factory Summit White paint before they were dipped in Falken 305/40R22 tires. An Eclipse double-din head unit replaced the factory stereo and to make room for more audio arsenal, Ian cut through to the bed so his three 13-inch JL Audio W3 subs and TMA amp could ride along. That much bass is definitely not for the weak of heart.
