To get your truck featured in Readers' Rides, email a high-resolution photo of your truck to Maxwell.Matthewson@sorc.com. Send in a front 3/4 or profile shot, and make sure it's big enough. For a digital file, try to make it at least 1MB. Don't use your cell phone! We print at a much higher resolution than a website, which means that sending links to photos posted online won't work. Remember, this is your pride and joy. Do your best to make your truck look it's best. Also, make sure to include plenty of information about you and your truck. The more information, the better the article. If you want to get your ride noticed by posting it on our website, go to rides.truckinweb.com. Upload up to 20 photos of your vehicle, along with detailed descriptions.
This amazing '28 Ford Model AR Roadster pickup is owned by Robert Luczun and is a historical documentary of comics and cartoons from 1908 through 2011. It exhibits over 2,800 hours of airbrush art completely covering the exterior of the truck. It has been featured at the New York International Auto Show, in Ripley's Believe it or Not, and has won a blue ribbon at the Concours d'Elegance. Thanks for sending pictures of your sweet ride, Robert.
Shawn Tranchine of Delmont, Pennsylvania, owns a beautiful '06 Nissan Titan. The suspension has been leveled and Cooper Zeon LTZs have been mounted onto the custom painted OEM wheels to sweeten the ride. The headlights and taillights are blacked out as well as the windows. An S&B intake, Banks Monster exhaust, and Bully Dog Power Pup tuner help draw out the hp. The bumper, cowl, and emblems have all been painted to match the truck. To light the way, HID headlights, and PIAA foglights have been installed. Shawn, congratulations on building your beast, and thank you for sharing it with us.
Hot Super Duty
Dale Rogers from Rosebud, Missouri, owns this super sick '01 Ford F-250. The front end has been changed out for an '06 Ford front end with Harley Davidson headlights. Dale had it painted jalapeño green and GM black with a marble graphic. The rolling stock are 20-inch Eagle Alloys wrapped in 36-inch Dick Cepek Mud Country rubber. An 8-inch Superlift suspension lift keeps off the ground while a cold-air intake, throttle-body spacer, and Edge programmer keep the horsepower coming. To bump the beats, Dale has some help from a Clarion flip-screen head unit, two 10-inch Rockford Fosgate subs, and a 1000-watt Rockford amp.
First Time Charm
Not many people have heard of Bewdley, Ontario, Canada, but it is home to Tyler Alexander and his '90 Chevy CK1500. Under the hood is a K&N cold-air intake and Edelbrock valve covers. The burnt gases exits the 4.3L V-6 through a Magnaflow Exhaust with a 3-inch outlet. BFGoodrich rubber sits on 15-inch American Racing rims. The body has clear parking and corner lights, euro taillights, halo headlights, and SS mirrors. To wrap up the body, Tyler has installed a laser cut, 1994 GMC style grille. With fresh paint and a sick sound system, this truck is sure to turn heads all over Canada. This is Tyler's first custom truck and so far, he has done it right. Good job Tyler!
RIDE OF THE MONTH
Houston We Have A...
Gabe Pendley of Houston, Texas, is the owner of this 2010 Toyota Tundra Double Cab TRD Sport. As soon as he picked the truck up at the dealer he began customizing everything about it. Gabe has tricked out his truck with a set of 20-inch x 9-inch XD Rockstar wheels covered in Michelin 285/50R20 Latitude tires. Under the hood is a TRD intake, modified throttle body, custom-painted engine cover and custom-painted fuse box cover. The grille is an RBP RX-I with color-matched star and logo. A set of RBP RX side steps help Gabe get into his monster of a Tundra, while custom straight pipes, a kicking sound system and HIDs out front help to notify drivers in downtown Houston that Gabe is coming. Future plans include blacked out taillights, long tube headers, RBP 96R wheels, an RBP lift, and a Pioneer 3200 touchscreen head unit. Hey Gabe, thanks for reading the magazine and keep up the good work.
Wicked Bow Tie
Mike Hobgood of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, sent us pictures of his '08 Chevy Silverado and it was worthy of being in the magazine. The stock 5.3L has been programmed to pull out a few extra horsepower and it has also been given a little better respiration with a K&N intake, aftermarket headers, and a Magnaflow exhaust. The door handles, grille surround, bumper, tailgate cap and handle, roll pan, and mirrors have all been painted to match the truck. A billet grille, clear headlights, a billet Bow Tie and HID headlights and foglights make the front end of this beauty pop. A set of U2-55 wheels, size 24x10 inches, with a set of Sunny 275/30R24 tires and a McGaughy's 5/7 drop keep this Chevy sitting pretty. The interior bumps with the help of a Kenwood in-dash screen and two 12-inch Kicker Comp subs. In the future, Mike wants to bag his baby so she sits a little lower. A big thanks to Mike for sharing his ride with us.
Allan Shindel's wife decided that it was time he sent in pictures of his '02 Ford F-150 Sport for consideration for Reader's Rides. Well, Allan, your wife was right, be sure she sees this. This awesome truck has just about every aftermarket accessory available. The exhaust is a Gibson Super Truck that exits on the passenger side in front of the rear tire. The tailgate and hood graphics are from a '95-'02 Mustang GT. The functioning hoodscoop helps the engine breath a little better and is from a 428 Cobra. The front bumper has a rubberized coating to protect it from flying debris. The chrome grille covers up the hidden auxiliary high beams. Also in the front is a Knight Rider Scanner light bar to make this truck even more awesome. The valve stems are made from actual .44 magnum casings. The interior and engine bay are fairly stock, but changes are soon to come. Allan, you sure do have a nice ride, keep it up and let us know about future changes you make. Thanks a lot!
We met Robert Strong through our official Facebook page. He posted a few images of his '00 Dodge Ram on our wall, and upon request, he emailed a nice batch of photos for us to sift through. Robert dropped his truck with a Belltech 2/4 kit, and is rolling on 17-inch SS/T wheels that have been wrapped in 285/60R17 Toyo Proxes rubber. A Keystone front bumper cover and painted Street Scene Speed Grille have turned the front end into an intimidating façade for those seeing it in their rear view. Aside from building a front-to-back clean ride, Robert built up the 5.9L engine with Eddy headers, a Flowmaster true dual exhaust setup, and a whole assortment of go-fast parts that he utilizes to terrorize the streets. Future plans include a new hood, tonneau cover, and a 408ci stroker that he wants to tweak to make 425 RWHP. We can't wait to see that. We're always on the lookout for rides owned and driven by our readers to feature here, and the best place to get noticed is on our Facebook fan page.
