In 2001, an unthinkable act of terrorism was carried out against the United States. From that day, a manhunt was underway to capture and/or kill the man behind this attack. Almost ten years later, a few dozen men from the elite SEAL Team 6 infiltrated a compound and killed Osama Bin Laden, bringing closure to the lives lost on 9/11. Armen Adjarian, owner of True Bliss Customs in Canoga Park, California, wanted to build a truck dedicated to these men. He went out and picked up a 2009 Ford F-450 Super Duty. He then set it upon himself to build a truck suitable for the men of SEAL Team 6.

Driving a truck is one of the great freedoms in life. With the horizon in front of you and a wide-open road, the possibilities are limitless. For Cliff Anderson of Hurst, Texas, driving his '85 C10 is one of the best parts of his day. 'Bagged low enough to lay pinch weld, his square-body looks the part of a show truck, but when the ignition is fired and the modified 350 ci roars to life, the party is just getting started. When it came time to part ways with his custom Camaros and Mustangs, Cliff wanted a truck that could do everything at a high level, so he found a good candidate for sale and worked hard to make it his own.

Monaco is a great place to start a road trip because of its long association with the world's finest and most exclusive cars. Unimaginably rich people living on the world's most iconic Formula 1 track are so used to seeing supercars, they don't bother to turn a head for a run-of-the-mill Ferrari. However, they certainly do for the vehicle we rolled up in. Tipping the scales at over 11,000 pounds, its throbbing 6.6L V-8 rumble drew a crowd, and its dazzling mirror finish kept them looking. Even through the 2.3-inch thick bulletproof glass we could see the astounded looks on people's faces. The vehicle in question is a massive Kombat T-98, and it's about as far as you can get from a normal car. Made in a converted tank factory on the outskirts of St Petersburg, Russia, it will get you from point A to point B (if you can find a big enough place to park at the end), but unlike pretty much anything else on the road, it will get you there under heavy fire. It's designed for what in Russian translates as "dangerously wealthy," the elite filthy-rich whose income makes them targets. Even the base models are bulletproof, and the extra-thick windows on ours were not just for show. Ours was armored to the top level of protection, known as B7, which means rocket-proof. Yes, we were behind the wheel of what is basically an anti-tank vehicle. "If you drive any car hard enough you should be able to smash it into a house," says creator Dmitri Parfenov. "But this is designed to come back out the other side and keep going."

Honest Charley Speed Shop was a landmark in Chatanooga, Tennessee, for years. When they went out of business, Corky Coker, of Coker Tire, bought the name and the old building so that Chattanooga wouldn't lose a legend. When he was looking for a vehicle to be the mascot for the shop, he found the perfect one in a 1941 Ford pickup. This wasn't just any truck though; Jason Grimes, of Grimes Garage in Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, had made it into a badass street cruiser. Keep reading to see how Jason turned an ordinary pickup into something totally off the wall.

The word "advertising" usually has a negative connotation, making us think of annoying commercials or pop-up ads online. However, advertising doesn't always have to be a bad thing—in the case of "Lucky" Luciano Lacerda, a custom automotive painter from Phoenix, the desire to advertise his business led him to create the slick green truck you see before you. Starting with his ordinary 2005 GMC Sierra shop truck, Lucky layered steel, fiberglass, and plenty of intricate paint to sculpt it into a real head-turner, as well as the ideal calling card for his business.

There are two distinctly different types of custom truck fans out there, the lifted guys and the lowered guys. However, there are some who ride the line and like both styles of truck. Bo McElwee of Princeton, Louisiana, is one of these select few. So, when he picked up a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, he racked his brain trying to decide which direction to take it. Eventually, he opted to take the truck to BNC Offroad and have a 14-inch 3rd Coast Suspension lift installed. After enjoying that for a while, Bo realized that he would rather have a 'bagged truck, and did what any sane truck owner would do—pulled the truck apart and rebuilt it. To accomplish this, he enlisted the help of his brother Dusty.

It's a classic tale of "more is never enough." When you eat, sleep, and breathe custom trucks, more is just a starting point for what eventually becomes out of control. From the onset of this Raptor build, the words average, regular, and stock were not associated with the 2012 Super Crew. No stranger to taking a new truck and making it incredibly unique, Austin O'Krinsky, of Extreme Offroad & Performance in Katy, Texas, has owned several trucks featured in Truckin. Then again, all of those trucks were ¾-ton diesels. For this F-150 to meet his expectations, it needed rocket ship-like acceleration, serious off-road capability, and looks that would stand out. Let the thrill ride begin.

Last week, we flew out to San Antonio, Texas to get our hands on Chevy’s all-new 2014 Silverado. Although we haven’t released our full review of the new truck just yet, here’s a little something to hold you over until then: over 50 behind-the-scenes shots from our day behind the wheel. We had a blast flogging the truck on the off-road course, testing how it fares towing various trailers, and cruising on the highway while playing with all the new technology. Customizing vehicles tends to be a family affair. Whether it's father and son, a pair of brothers, or husband and wife, an affinity for wrenching usually rubs off on family members. As for Dave Timm and his brother Brian Walker, they enjoyed wrenching on cars and trucks so much that they opened their own shop, 2 Brothers Custom Trucks in Springfield, Illinois. Living in Springfield, the pair builds a lot of lifted trucks, but that isn't all they know. To show off their ability to build lowered trucks, Dave decided to buy a 1960 F-100 to build into a 'bagged show truck with plenty of power. After finding the perfect starter truck, Dave pulled the trigger and went and picked it up.

Lets just get to the truthour better halves for the most part put up with our obsession for all things custom. Whether it be bagged show trucks, lifted off-road monsters, or muscle trucks that could blow their clothes off, our wives and girlfriends understand that a relationship with us is a package deal. You get us and you get our truck. For many ladies, the prized possession parked out in the driveway is a nuisance that they must grin and bear, but for those select few, a truck is a great way to show off their unique personality alongside their man. A man, his truck, and his girlits a beautiful thing.

Young men living and dying by gunfire isnt a romanticized script from some Hollywood gangster movie when we talk about our impressive men and women in the military. For Army Sgt. Chris Stafford of Angie, Louisiana, the mobster theme of his 97 GMC is synonymous with the ups and downs of his everyday life. A custom truck enthusiast since high school, Chris made the selfless decision to defend our country at any cost. To give him an escape from military life and to bond with his Severed Ties truck club brothers, he picked up a 97 Sierra Stepside and got to work making it his own.

Twenty-three-year-old Joe De Sousa has always had a knack for automotive customization. Born in Miami, Joe worked on his father's farm as he grew up, acquiring a business sense that he still values today. His parents were concerned about purchasing a car for young Joe, so to prepare him for the war zone that is Miami traffic, they bought him a four-wheeler. Within months, the off-road machine was painted and customized to the extent that the teenager was being asked to join car clubsdespite not even being old enough to drive.

I bet that if you ask any truck nut what their first truck was, they can rattle off all the details like theyre trying to sell you that truck. There is no doubt that a first truck is a step into manhood. Unfortunately for some people, that first truck didnt turn out how they wanted it to. One such person is Wally Williams of Hanceville, Alabama. Wallys first truck was a 1967 C10. After working on it little by little, he eventually had to put it aside when times got tough. Now that Wally has opened his own fabrication shop, he dusted off his old beater and began working on it again to make it like he always wanted.

Chevrolet has just unveiled its sleek Silverado High Country model which will join the LTZ and Z71 models in the Silverado lineup this fall. We have to admit, we are very impressed with Chevrolet’s take on what a luxury truck should look like. One thing’s for sure; Chevrolet is no longer playing second fiddle to the GMC Denali¬¬, and is finally going after Ford’s King Ranch!
