I am spending this week in Lenexa, Kansas, at the Procharger headquarters. Today one of the founders of Procharger, Ken Jones, gave me a tour of their facility, and I have to say that I am very impressed.

Procharger makes all of their units out of billet aluminum that they mill in-house on one of their numerous, small house sized milling machines. They then assemble in-house and do quality control on every unit before it leaves their facility, rather than on random units. The testing of units is performed in Procharger's state of the art Aerodynamic Testing Lab.  Sharing the building that houses the test lab is Procharger's other line of business, Inovair, makers of high efficiency, extremely quiet, and remarkably compact pneumatic conveyance packages.  Procharger really knows what they are doing, which is the reason they are one of the top power adders in the industry. This past weekend Pickups Limited hosted the 29th Annual F-100 Western Nationals in the shade of Canyon Park in Yorba Linda, California.

The event attracted more than 240 pre '79 Ford trucks F-1 and F-100's from California and the rest of the western states. The event was kicked off with a Friday cruise that included stopping at shops and manufactures in So Cal that ended up at the nearby El Torito restaurant. The one-day bash featured incredible Blue Oval stock, mild and wild trucks that covered the beautiful Canyon Park shaded landscape. A large vendors village allowed show goers to checkout the latest custom and performance hardware and software from the hobby's aftermarket manufactures. The unique '51 Ford F1 High Energy Sound Machine blasted oldies rock 'n roll tunes that took you back in time.

The registration and judging will be held at the Treasure Bay Casino down the street from the convention center. This year’s show is guaranteed to big one of the best shows of the year. Truckin’ magazine will be on hand shooting show coverage and looking for feature trucks.

Along with the car and truck show, there will be live bands, food vendors, stereo competition, bikini contest, burnout contest, and much more. On Saturday night, there will be a beach cruise for anyone who wants to participate. Show hours are Friday from noon to 5 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday 8 AM to 5 PM. Truckin’ will be walking around all day on Saturday and Sunday. Sponsors of this years show include Keef’s Rod and Customs, R&J’s Auto Concepts, The Little Shop of Horrors, Air-Zenith, KIK Clothing, and Kinetik among many others.
