0512Tr Z Hot Rod Hoedown

June 10, 11, and 12 served as one of the more memorable weekends away from home. While perusing the showgrounds of this year's Goodguys Hot Rod Nationals, we were taken back by just how cruddy the weather was in the Eastern part of the States. It was two weeks away from summer and the rain was not cooperating. Trudging on, we did our best to get some photography done while dodging the imposing raindrops. The event, located at Indianapolis Raceway Park in Indianapolis, was filled to near capacity on Saturday and that's when we got the most work done, including grabbing ourselves a few features for future issues of Truckin'. Sunday was a whole other story as the rain started Saturday night and didn't let up. The show promoters actually had to cancel Sunday's scheduled festivities. Disappointed attendees settled for a short and sweet awards presentation while huddling together trying to cover themselves. By 10 a.m. Sunday, IRP was a ghost town with only the vendors still on hand to clean up and go home. Mother Nature can really stick it to us sometimes.
