Tailgate Party!

A shot of the box completed and ready to occupy its new home. Two Rockford Fosgate Power T112 12-inch subs were chosen to produce maximum bass for this party experience.

Once the box was built, Scott began constructing the bed kit panels. Using cardboard, a template was built for side panels to mount against the inner bedwalls and over the fenderwells.

After the template was traced out on the MDF, the panels were cut out and prepped for test fitment.

The first side panel fit like a glove.

The subwoofer box was mounted to the floor and bolted down for a solid fit.

Stinger cabling and wiring were routed into the bed to hook up to an additional Lifeline battery.

Scott sent juice to all the in-bed and in-cab electronics.

After the box was mounted in the bed, Scott cut and mounted the top panel. The wood was appropriately notched around the mounts and shocks for the tonneau.

For a clean finish, a face panel was built so the box would flow with the top panel.

The box fitted with face and top panels. It's going to look super-trick once wrapped in vinyl.

Since the ice chest for the bed floor was already built when we arrived, Scott assembled a mock, miniature cooler frame and showed how the ice chest was built.

After being glued at each corner, the framework was nailed together.

A floor panel was cut for the ice chest and was nailed in place.

To create insulation, expanding foam was layered over the floor panel.

The ice chest with its surrounding framework was set in place in the bed.
