2006 Toyota Tundra - Transformation

Both the antisway-bar and the steering rack were unbolted.

To compensate for the dropped steering rack, the short factory shaft was removed.

RCD's longer steering shaft reused the rubber-mounted joint from the factory shaft on the left.

Bob used a grinder to remove the heads of the rivets and punched out the remainder. The joint was reassembled on the longer RCD shaft with supplied hardware.

An O-ring was removed from the bearing that was pre-installed in the RCD knuckle to prepare it for the Toyota piece.

Chad used a wheel bearing locknut wrench to loosen the Toyota bearing from the factory knuckle.

A hydraulic press was used to remove the bearing from the knuckle. The press was also used to remove the ball joints from the factory knuckles.

With both crossmembers bolted in, factory lower control arms went into their new location.

Almost ready to be bolted back in, the bearings were pressed into the RCD knuckle.
