2001 Ford F150 SuperCrew - Big Wheels Require Big Brakes

This held it in place while we mounted the caliper to the new mounting bracket. |  Funny enough, the passenger...  Funny enough, the passenger side went together with no shims and aligned perfectly the first time. However, the driver side wasn't so easy. SSBC supplies a grand total of 12 thin shims to get the spacing from the pads to the rotor exact. We used all 12 shims on the driver side-six on each mounting bolt-to push the caliper more |  This was what the caliper...  This was what the caliper looked like after the shimming occurred. Notice how close the tolerances are between the caliper and rotor. This had to be exact to ensure no grinding or scarring would occur. |  After tightening the caliper...  After tightening the caliper to the required lb-ft, the new brake-hose block was installed. The double banjo fitting requires copper crush washers inside and outside, to ensure a proper seal. Leaky brakes are not a good idea. After bleeding the brakes several times, it was time to go for a testdrive. |  Check out how great our new...
