The '07 Silverado we started with was barely broken in, with less than 2,000 miles on the odometer. It still smelled new.
For our first '07 Silverado Fantastic Four, we started with a 4x4, 5.3L Crew Cab. We made the short drive to San Diego, California, for the entire build, with our first stop at JBA Performance Center in San Diego. One week later, the truck made it a bit farther South, at Pro Comp Suspension in Chula Vista, to finish our build. Chevy's newest Silverado is still causing a big splash in the truck world and we are delighted to show you what the aftermarket already has out there for it. This truck was lifted, thanks to Pro Comp, then outfitted with an exhaust, courtesy of JBA, and an intake from AEM. Check out the next few pages to see how this Silverado came to be.

At JBA Performance Center, Jarrod removed the dipstick and spark plugs, then disconnected the steering shaft, and then he began removing the exhaust manifold bolts. |
Jarrod had to unbolt the collectors from below, and unbolt manifold bolts through the wheelwell, before the manifolds came free. |

The cast manifolds didn't look all that bad, and probably didn't flow all that bad compared to manifolds from decades past, but the polished silver ceramic-coated JBA pieces still blow them away. |
A look at the collector-side of the JBA header shows the "Firecone" that helps exhaust gasses merge efficiently. It also looks cool. |

The new headers slipped in through the top, and only took a little bit of maneuvering to get them into position. |
The exhaust-port surface was wiped down with solvent to make sure the soft aluminum gasket would seat properly. |

An air ratchet helped snug the header bolts in place before a wrench ensured the proper torque. |
JBA also installed fresh 8mm silicone plug wires, complete with a bit of dielectric grease. Notice that the steering shaft has been reconnected. |

The complete JBA cat-back system is made from stainless steel to ensure it will last. | |
