2008 GMC Sierra - Fantastic Four - Tech
After seperating the upper ball joint, Tony removed the two bolts from the bottom of the coilover and removed the spring.
Here's the factory spring on the left, compared to the shorter Ground Force piece on the right. It's the same spring from the kit, but it's been painted black to match the rest of the suspension.
The new spring was added to the factory shock and the assembly was reinstalled. Tony tightened the upper ball joint and the front was finished. Yes, it really was that easy.
Moving to the rear suspension, the gas tank had to be dropped to access the front leaf spring bolt. Tony removed the two straps holding the tank, then lowered the tank with jackstands until he could get to the bolt.
The passenger side was much easier.
An impact wrench made quick work of the U-bolts.
Chuck lent a hand to remove the old spring.
The Ground Force Spring has just as many leaves, but a lot less arch.
Tony bolted in the new springs, then he added the Ground Force shocks.
