From the Driver Seat
Pulling an airbag-equipped steering wheel is no laughing matter, safety has to come first. We followed commonsense and had no problems removing the airbag or pulling the factory wheel, once we had a strong enough puller. One sacrifice we had to make was the loss of cruise control. It was a simple decision, because we rarely used the device. The AIM hub went on with little difficulty and the new AIM wheel bolted right to it. Neither the hub or wheel came with new screws, so we made a quick trip to Home Depot for some stainless 10x32-3/4-inch hex counter-sunk screws. Putting the billet horn button on from the back with the tiny Allen wrench took some patience, but it did go on. The UPR billet pieces were a snap, literally. Every piece went on as it was supposed to, with the exception of the window lock; we racked this up to the truck being a pre-production model. The new look is undeniably more custom. Special thanks to Chris and Jake Caler at AIM for their great work.
