Because the tint had been on the truck for more than 5 years, much of it was literally stuck to the glass, and it didn't help that it was raining the day of the tint appointment. To remedy the sticky situation, the glass was heated with steam to loosen up the hardened tint.

With the windows free of old film, the glass was cleaned and the new 3M 5-percent tint was laid over the outside of the rear windows to get an exact fit.
