From The Driver Seat
Our test truck was equipped with a 12-inch lift, 22-inch wheels, and 37-inch tires. The added height and rolling mass equaled poor braking from any speed over 35 mph. After adding the TRD big brake kit, the brake pedal took little effort to slow down the 5,705 pound fullsize truck. It was as if we had a huge anchor in the bed and every time we applied the brake pedal, someone was halting us in an instant. Our installer, Kurt Spann, did perform the TRD recommended break-in, which will prolong pad and rotor life. Besides the improved braking, safer driving, and peace of mind, the TRD big brake kit also looks awesome behind the wheels. A must for this kit, 20-inch or larger wheels are required to clear the calipers and huge rotors. It's an expensive upgrade, but the improved braking performance does soften the initial hit to your wallet.
