This month, we set the focus of our Fantastic Four series on an '05 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab that was just begging for the Truckin' touch. There is just something about a four-year-old bone stock truck that has us asking why it hasn't been lowered yet and why the factory wheels and tires haven't yet been put to rest in the garage.
Things were about to change for this unsuspecting fullsize Chevy and we knew just who to call to make it happen. Belltech has been a longtime staple in the custom truck suspension game, so we knew our project Silverado couldn't go wrong with a set of drop spindles, a rear flip kit, and a set of Belltech's new Street Performance shocks. To go underneath the 2/4 suspension drop, we reached out to MKW Alloy Wheels and reserved a set of 22x9.5-inch Avenue A522 chrome rollers. No complete suspension upgrade would be complete without a brand-new set of tires and we looked no further than Hankook Ventus rubber for optimum handling performance.
With the Silverado's aggressive suspension and appearance well taken care of, we next took its engine's efficiency into consideration and decided that a Bassani AFT-CAT exhaust system and an Airaid cold air intake would free up the restrictive stock respiratory setup.
We are lucky enough to be relatively close neighbors with Bassani, so we dropped by and had Kurt Gordon hook up the Silverado's new exhaust system. For the rest of the truck's installation work, we headed to JBM Motoring in Orange, California, where Adolfo Brisenio stepped up to the plate and knocked one out of the park for the Chevy's overall appearance and performance.
