In under an hour, the SSBC big brake install was complete and our blazing orange cover truck was ready to hit the streets.
From The Driver Seat
Upgrading to bigger rotors and calipers is the only way to go when demanding ultimate braking performance from any fullsize vehicle with large diameter wheels and tires. With SSBC performance brake system's big brake kit, our cover truck gained decreased stopping time, better handling, and increased pad life due to the rotor's heat-dispensing cross-drilled surface pattern. The initial investment of SSBC's brake kit will definitely pay off in the long run since brake pads won't need to be changed as frequently, and the rotor's Xtra Life plating protects against warping and corrosion. Not only do the larger calipers look awesome on top of the cool rotors, the real-flame, color-matched paint by DSG Graphics, increases their custom appearance.
Editor's Note: SSBC does not sell custom-painted calipers. They do offer powdercoating in several popular colors, including polished finish, for their calipers, but for this story, we had the aluminum calipers painted to match the truck.
