Mastercraft Baja RS Race Seat Installation - Safety Meets Style

Fresh from MasterCraftseats.com, the all-black MasterCraft Baja RS seats were ready to make our project Ranger a safer and more comfortable place to be.

MasterCraft did not have seat mounting brackets for this extended cab Ranger, so we welded the tabs from the factory seat brackets to some angle iron to fabricate our own brackets. The brackets were then bolted to the Baja RS seats using Grade 8 hardware and nylon lock fasteners.

Our super-buff installer then quickly placed the seat into mounting position and aligned the mounting tabs to the factory bolt holes.

Using a 15mm socket, the factory mounting bolts were loosely installed.

These bolts were used as a guide until the rear bolts and seatbelt/harness tabs were secured. As you can see, our homemade brackets worked pretty darn well.

For the rear mounting points, the factory bolts were again reused and anchored the lap straps for the four-point harnesses. All four bolts were then tightened accordingly.

The owner purchased these four-point harnesses for his old seats but never used them. Thankfully, they worked flawlessly with the MasterCraft seats.

Behind the seats, the adjustable shoulder harness restraint strap was bolted to the floor using Grade 8 hardware.

After running the harnesses through the MasterCraft seats, each strap was adjusted for a tight, yet comfortable fit.
