7. How many ponies do you think the blown 6.0L will pump out? We should probably keep that between us, and make sure Howie's wife doesn't find out!

8. Being that the truck is a '67 and the engine is out of a '05 Escalade, what are you going to do about the LS drive-by-wire and computer harness issues?

9. Taking a peek out back, I know you fabbed up the fuel cell, but what did you make it out of and how many gallons is it?

10. & 11. Moving to the firewall, what design were you going for when shaving the factory sheetmetal and creating your own?

12. & 13. What made you want to cover up all of the awesome/one-off front suspension components with huge inner fenders?

14. 15. & 16. Those inner fenders look really burly, were they always part of the design concept? What gauge sheetmetal are they? Why make them so strong? Wow, they make the front end more rigid, what are they made of?

17. & 18. Taking a look at the tranny tunnel, how important was it to make sure it flowed well with the rest of the flat, shaved firewall? How long did it take you to design, fab, shave, and weld in the new firewall, inner fenderwells, and tranny tunnel?

19. I can see in this pic, there's a dummy engine mounted in place. How many times would you say you had to pull the motor and then put it back in while getting the engine bay exactly the way you wanted?

We are "guesstimating" and easy 500 hp, but it really doesn't matter as long as it scares you every time you put your foot into it.

  • 1967 Chevy C10 Buildup Painless Wiring
Painless Wiring has already solved this issue. For about $ 1,000.00 Painless offers a standalone wiring harness that plugs into all the sensors, computer, and transmission. The only thing left is to have the computer reprogrammed to override the security features.

The fuel cell is made out of CNC-cut 14-gauge aluminum and holds 24 gallons of gas.
  • 1967 Chevy C10 Buildup Firewall
The firewall in this truck is real flat, with no specific feature going on with it.
  • 1967 Chevy C10 Buildup Engine Compartment
I figured the engine compartment was going to have such a nice motor in it that I did not want bead rolls or misc. brackets to take your attention away from the motor.

  • 1967 Chevy C10 Buildup Front Suspension
I wanted to create a finished look in the motor compartment. Howie also specified that he would be driving this truck so I did not want to have a bunch of road grime get all over the motor.

  • 1967 Chevy C10 Buildup Bolt On Fenders
From the beginning I was going to make inner fenders. As simple as they look, they are really very intricate. They bolt to the firewall, fender, and core support which gives the front end more rigidity.

I built the inner fenders using 16-gauge sheetmetal and they are all TIG welded together.

The motor is fairly big and the truck sits so low we had to create a large tunnel for the transmission and driveline.

  • 1967 Chevy C10 Buildup Flat Shaved Firewall
It's very important how well the tunnel flowed into the firewall and floor section because it also helps support the structure of the cab. We made sure there were no open gaps so the cab can be completely sealed. The tunnel cannot have any odd creases or bends because it would show through the carpet. All the sheetmetal work on the truck took about 5 months.

  • 1967 Chevy C10 Buildup Dummy Engine
The motor only came in and out of the truck a few times, but the cab and front end was installed and removed more times than I can count. The motor and trans has it's position and we did not want to change it so we manipulated all the sheetmetal to fit its location.
