2009 Dodge Ram Upgrades Katzkin Front Seats

We've all heard mom tell us guys "it's what inside that counts." Well, those aren't just words to live by when trying to find your soul mate, they also apply to creating a truly unforgettable driving experience. When getting our '09 Dodge Ram ready for its cover debut, we knew that even our plush, factory leather seats were only good enough for a stock truck's day-to-day commute, so we called Katzkin and had them put together a fresh set of custom hides for our ride. We took a little drive to Katzkin's headquarters in Montebello, California, for the install, and since it took less than a full day's work to transform our seats, we decided to liven up the interior just a tad bit further. We then ordered a few genuine Mopar accessories and headed to O.C. Motorsports in Costa Mesa, California, for a little lesson in how the little things can make a big difference in appearance. We unbolted the front and back row of seats from our Ram, and headed to Katzkin's headquarters, in Montebello, California, where Luis Tirado started the install by first dissembling the seat bracket. Once the upper and lower seat sections of the buckets were separated, the factory leather cover was carefully peeled from the foam core.

Now that the factory cover was removed, Luis reached for the new Katzkin cover and centered it before beginning the wrapping process. To get the cover to fit properly, Luis slowly worked the Katzkin cover over the foam core and thoroughly massaged the contours of the cover.

With the upper portion of the seat wrapped successfully, Luis flipped it over and stapled the flaps securely shut. He then poked small holes on the top cushion to accommodate for the mounting brackets of the headrests.

The multiple components of each console, such as the drink holders, required precise cutting and trimming of the cover, so Luis made sure to measure twice and cut only once.
