Before
Performance is more than just smoking the rear tires and going straight. Just as exhilarating is a truck that handles and makes quick work of twisty roads. We teamed up with the pros at Traders Truck Accessories, in Santa Fe Springs, California, to install a McGaughy's 2-4.5-inch drop kit on an '05 Dodge Ram SRT-10. The McGaughy's kit will not only give the SRT a sporty stance, but also help control the Viper V-10's 500 horsepower during acceleration, braking, and cornering.

After
The simple McGaughy's suspension replaces the factory front coil springs with a pair of two-inch shorter springs. The rear suspension is lowered by removing the factory rear leaf spring packs and relocating them underneath the rearend housing. Longer McGaughy's leaf spring shackles and gas-filled shocks with shock extension brackets will be installed to obtain the correct 4.5-inch lowered rear suspension geometry. To assist in damping and controlling the rear suspension performance and its payload, a pair of McGaughy's helper airbags will also be installed.
Follow along as Trader's installation technician ace, Ox Higgins, installed the McGaughy's 2-4.5-inch static drop and helper 'bags.
