As you can see from this Tavis Highlander rendering, the Master Lock ultimate F-150 work truck is going to combine the best of functionality with the tough, rugged looks you would expect from a Truckin magazine build.
We love trucks of all types, but one style that we haven't built in many years is the fully functional work truck. Our goal each month is to provide you with a complete truck magazine, so it was perfect timing when we were contacted by Master Lock to create the ultimate F-150 work truck to showcase their new work truck security line. Delivering a 2012 F-150 SuperCab with only 54 miles on the odometer to our headquarters in Irvine, California, we were tasked with transforming an average Ford pickup into a certifiable worksite on wheels.
To handle such a challenge, we wanted to ensure the bed would be protected for years to come. Bullet Liner was up to the task, and the pros at 714 Motorsports in Westminster, California, handled the actual bedliner spraying. With the bed ready to rock, we moved onto the installation of a BedSlide 1000PRO SE, which will help us reach items mounted deep inside the bed and provide easier bed organization. The BedSlide can handle up to 1,000 pounds, has a nonskid protective covering, and has small rails on the back and sides to prevent cargo from shifting about. We now needed the staple of every work truck—the ladder rack. Contacting Paramount Restyling, we ordered a professional contractor's rack capable of supporting 1,000 pounds. The rack is modular in design, and installation is a completely bolt-on affair. No work truck would be legit without a toolbox, and we went with one of the best boxes on the market—the Blue Label series from DeeZee. Made of thick-gauge aluminum, with a protective gloss black powdercoat finish, the commercial-grade box features ingenious push-button, self-aligning latches, and has a removable plastic tool tray.
OK, we've told you all about the incredible parts we installed (and that's just in the bed), but the best part is, you get to enter for a chance to win this truck. Check out Master Lock on Facebook, at www.facebook.com/masterlock, and you can like them for a chance to win.
