The gauge pod panel was set on top of the console, and once Jimmy had it in the desired position, the outline was marked. An air saw was used to cut the necessary opening. |
After several days of building the dash, console, and rear cab structure, the truck was rolled out of the shop at Vision Audio and ready to return to Hill's Hot Rods to get some primer down on all the fresh work. |

The rear cab structure looks great, and we can't wait to see this wild interior treatment completed. |
Here's a look at the dash and console after Jimmy finished shaping everything. A trick center panel for the dash, with cutouts for mids, tweeters, and a head unit, will fill the empty space. |

Custom Arctic White gauges from Auto Meter's Street Rod line of gauges were used in the custom center console gauge pod. These classic hot rod-styled instruments were the perfect finishing touch to the elaborate console. Wooden trim rings were created for each gauge in order to mount to the gauge pod base mounting panel underneath. A top panel was created out of wood and fiberglass to cradle the gauges and Air Ride Technologies air suspension panel. |
To give the door panels the same street rod style as the rest of the cab, Jimmy used the stock door panel, removed the factory armrest, and used wood and fiberglass to get the desired shape. Custom teardrop-shaped inserts will give the panels some additional style. Note the custom dash centerpiece. It will hold four 6.5-inch Infiniti Perfect 6.1 component sets with the tweeter mounted in front of the speaker on a custom-built crossbar that will also hold the head unit. |

Here is a shot of one of the door panels after Jimmy finished shaping them. The bottom teardrop will be painted red to match the truck's body, while the top panel will be upholstered to slightly contrast the tan leather that will eventually cover the whole panel. |
Back at Hill's Hot Rods, the dash, console, and rear cab structure were sanded and prepped for primer. |

The truck was rolled into the spray booth, and while the cab was being sealed in primer, Jason dusted primer over the entire interior framework. |
The truck emerged from the spray booth, and the entire custom interior framework crafted by Jimmy Davis at Vision Audio was successfully sealed in primer. |

After primer was applied, the dash cap was set in place along with the gauge pod and gauges to get an idea of how it would all look when completed. |
This close-up clearly shows the Auto Meter Arctic White gauges: a volt gauge, water temperature gauge, fuel level gauge, oil pressure gauge, speedometer, and a tachometer. The Air Ride Technologies air suspension digital pressure readout and switch control panel was also mounted on an angle toward the driver. |

Here is a shot of the inside of Project Red Rocker after all of the fabrication work had been completed. The dash center panel was being treated to some additional smoothing at this time. |
With the dash to match, Red Rocker's rear cab structure just screamed classic Corvette. We love it when a plan comes together. Jimmy Davis at Vision Audio hit a home run with this one-of-a-kind interior. |
