After the rough structure for the back of the cab was built, Jimmy finished it off by shaping the framework around the seats with fiberglass and curving all the edges to ensure a nice, tight fit. The top of the structure was given a flared edge above the seat opening for more character. This photo shows the creation of the console top from the custom gauge pod back. Jimmy used 1x1-inch wood slats on top to create the smooth curve and contour. The wood slats were finished with fiberglass mat and resin to smooth out the surface and to help shape the console to the desired curve.
