As seen in this picture, the latch arm for the rotary latch is adjustable for up and down or side to side. This is the only time you'll really need a screwdriver. Our latch arm was set nearly perfect from the factory, but it required a slight adjustment to get things to work fluidly.

If you did not opt for the optional remote lock or 12-Volt interior light, you would be finished at this point. However, we went whole hog and checked off almost everything on the list of options. As such, our tonneau had a pigtail with a weatherproof connector that was run down between the cab and bedwalls.

The other half of the plug...

The other half of the plug requires a constant 12-Volt source from the truck, so the driver side trim panel was removed from the floor to give us access to the truck's wiring harness. With the key off, we located a wire that was showing constant power.

A T-tap was slipped over the wires to effectively allow power to flow to our tonneau cover's electrical system. You can see the tap on the pink wire here, with our red lead running from it. A self-tapping screw in a screw gun zipped right through the floor for a sturdy ground. A body grommet was near our power source, so we dropped the wiring through it, then buttoned up the carpet and trim panel as if nothing had happened.

Now, we had the option of using the remote keyless entry or a single key hidden under the match-painted dustcover. Should some crazy thing happen-like you get locked under the tonneau-an interior emergency release will allow you to free yourself.
From The Driver Seat:
The Gaylord's TL-Series bedcovers was fully optioned, minus the edge trim. We really like the smooth look of the trimless edge. Also, because of the keyless remote, we didn't have to worry about ever grabbing the edge and possibly chipping it. With the cover in the lifted position, a simple flip of the switch turned on our optional light source. And since it was hooked to the truck's power supply, we could leave that light on for almost any amount of time we needed, while working in the bed loading and unloading items. Now, our truck looks much cleaner, with the color-matched cover and lends a sport appearance to the bed. Although it might pose a problem for those truck owners who use their beds for mostly utilitarian reasons, our trucks don't usually have to haul anything taller than the bedrails, so a tonneau system like this is perfect. It would only take an extra hand and one minute to remove the TL cover, should we ever need the full use of the bed.
