Bolt-ons are awesome. They can easily be added to your ride to instantly change the appearance, and are typically budget-friendly. Hoods are the leading edge for your ride and can make a statement for your truck as soon as you arrive somewhere. Wanting to give an '02 F-150 some extra attitude, we contacted AIM Industries for one of its new steel cowl-induction hoods. These hoods provide muscular good looks and also fit very well. It took less than half an hour for the pros over at South County Customs in Lake Forest, California, to install the new hood. Check out the easy install we did, and if your truck needs a leading-edge enhancement, give AIM a call.

Here is our stock hood-equipped F-150 before we added the new muscular cowl-induction hood from AIM Industries. |
Manny and Dave, from South County Customs in Lake Forest, California, began the hood removal by releasing the clips holding the gas struts onto the hood mounts. |

Next up, Manny loosened and removed the hood-mounting bolts. |
With the under-hood light disconnected and the vacuum lines to the hood squirters freed, the factory hood was lifted off and set aside. |

The retaining clips for the hood mounting bolts were the wrong size, so Dave used a screwdriver to remove the correct clips from the old hood. |
It was now time to lift the new hood onto the hinges and snug the bolts. |
