The factory bedrail covers were used to make a plug, then a mold and a final part.
2006 Ford Sport Trac Custom Plug
A custom plug was made off the factory rear roll pan, followed by a mold, then the final part. The final part was removed from the mold and applied to the rear end, which gave it a smooth look.

The addition of a more serious custom aero kit transformed the factory Sport Trac into a Ford Super Sport Trac, SS-Trac Coppertone.
