Paint and Body Tech - Airbrushing With Attitude

Custom Airbrush Techniques Hood Detail
On the hood, Jeff continued the graphic treatment with similar but scaled down versions of the recurring themes.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Paint Doorjambs
Cutting no corners, Jeff even painted inside the cab and the doorjambs.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Inside Door
Looking closely at the doorjambs, you can see even more sinister skulls.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Left Side
After applying the shadowing and highlights, the side of the truck was getting close to being finished.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Laying Down
Ensuring the graphics looked seamless, Jeff even laid down on his back to airbrush the bed. Graphics wrapped around the bed, as well.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Rollpan
Check out the Street Scene Equipment roll pan. Jeff airbrushed hands grabbing onto the back.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Demon Skulls
Horned demons were airbrushed onto the tailgate.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Tailgate Detail
The bed features a conglomeration of all the graphics applied to the truck. It was now time to apply the RM Carizzma CZZ-400 Candy Apple Red to the exposed artwork.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Tailgate Finished
After umasking the area, Dave's truck was two-toned with cool-looking graphics and evil airbrushing. Jeff then applied two coats of DC-5300 Clear. Once it was dry, he rescuffed the body with 3M Hookit 800-grit sandpaper.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Left Side Complete
Fresh out of the paint booth, the truck looked awesome.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Gloss Shine
That high-gloss shine from the clear is a good indication that Jeff did the work properly.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Out Of Paintbooth
With the truck out of the booth, Jeff could focus on pinstriping all of those graphics.
Custom Airbrush Techniques Pinstriping
Using House of Kolors striping enamels, Jeff striped the yellow graphic with U-04 Orange in a jagged pattern, the white and red colors were split up using a mixture of U-09 Light Blue and U-02 White, and then the charcoal graphic was outlined in U-01 Black. He then wrapped up the detail work by adding a dropshadow under each of the graphics to give it a 3D look. Jeff was finished after three more coats of DC-5300 Clear were sprayed, then the truck was wet-sanded with 1,500-grit sandpaper, and buffed to a show-truck shine.
