After requesting and receiving hundreds of buildup images from Kevin Yankey, the builder of Paul Knowlson's '36 Ford Ute, we thought you would be interested in seeing how this incredible custom became a reality. The Ute was built at Gerald's Hot Rods in New Paris, Indiana. After Gerald Kupeerus, owner of Gerald's Hot Rods consulted with Ute owner Paul Knowlson and Kevin Yankey got all the factors of the Ute's equation finalized, Gerald assigned the project to Kevin, who at the time was 25 years old. The project took seven years to complete.
After receiving the Ute body and '39 Ford frame, it was disassembled and each piece was examined and refurbished to its present immaculate condition. These images of the Ute's buildup really make you appreciate the man-hours and meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating such a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
