1998 Chevy Tahoe Buildup - Tahoe X-Treme Makeover

Summit Racing has introduced a new automotive resurfacing product line. Beginning with epoxy primer, urethane primer surfacer, epoxy primer catalyst, acrylic urethane omaha orange, acrylic urethane pure white, H/S urethane clearcoat, zero-VOC reducer, urethane activator and surface wash.

Evercoat Rage is a superior lightweight body filler resin. Rage has incredible spreading and sanding properties that eliminates the need of cheese grating or sanding with coarse papers. Rage has very strong adhesion and will not shrink or crack.

Ron Geriego applied a thin layer of Evercoat Rage lightweight body filler onto the fender.

After allowing cure time, Ron used a radius sanding tool to sand and smooth the concave section of the fender.

Following the completion of minor bodywork filling and sanding, the Tahoe was pushed into the Anaheim Prestige paint booth. The entire body skin was scuffed using a DA sander, then thoroughly wiped down using Summit Racing Surface Wash. The unpainted surfaces were then carefully masked off.

Jeremiah Castanede mixed and poured the Summit Racing epoxy primer (Gray) into his primer paint gun.

Jeremiah applied the Summit Racing epoxy primer using long, flowing and even strokes. The primer covered the entire Tahoe exterior surface evenly and uniformly. If needed, the primer can be built up for extensive block sanding. Fortunately, the Tahoe didn't need any extensive work.

Following the primer coat, Jeremiah used 400 grit, wet/dry, sandpaper and water while he wet sanded the entire Tahoe surface, assuring a straight and smooth body.

Before the surface was painted, Ron wiped down the entire body surfaces using Summit Racing surface wash to remove any contaminants, grease, or dust.
