The body was stripped of its emblems, roof rack, seals, interior door panels, and everything that was easily removed before the body was scuffed with a DA sander with 320-grit paper and then once again with an abrasive pad to be sure that the sealant will have a good surface to adhere to. This included inside the fuel door, under the hood, and the doorjambs, as shown here.
