Nissan Frontier Custom Paint Job - Chameleon Part II
 When the masking was nearly...  When the masking was nearly finished the dust was blown off from the truck, it was wiped down for a final time, and was driven into the booth. The final masking was done to the wheels and the driver side door. |  The truck was first sprayed...  Finally, after hours of prep...  Finally, after hours of prep work, the blue paint went on. After a gallon of color went on, it was followed by a gallon of clear, which meant 2+ coats of color and 3 for the clear. The truck was then pushed into the drying oven to bake at almost 100 degrees. |  The truck wasn't done when...  The truck wasn't done when it rolled out of the oven, it still needed to be sanded and buffed to remove the characteristic "orange peel" look. First a DA sander with 1200-grit was used on the areas that were flat enough. The DA was kept off any curves. Here's what the surface of the paint looks like after a light pass with the DA. |  The entire truck was then...  The entire truck was then wet-sanded by hand with 1200-grit until the paint was level.
