JBA shorty headers were constructed from 409 stainless with 1-5/8-inch-diameter primary tubes that flow into an oversized, patented JBA Firecone collectors with 2-inch-diameter domed outlets. JBA 3/8-inch thick CNC laser-cut square port flanges eliminated any possible exhaust leaks. |
Nick Nichols removed the factory cast-iron exhaust manifolds. |

This comparison shot shows the flow restriction of the factory exhaust manifold log with 90-degree port angles that interrupt the hot exhaust gas velocity flow. |
A special Percy's carbon fiber and steel sandwiched header gasket made for a consistent leak-proof seal around the header flange and cylinder head exhaust ports. |

After installing the Percy's carbon-fiber header gasket, Nick lowered the new JBA shorty header, then he bolted it up to the Hemi cylinder head. |
The oversized extra thick JBA header collector dome and 3/8-inch thick flange were swedged together with stainless bolts, lock washers, and nuts. |

JBA's four piece after-cat exhaust was complete with mounting brackets and hardware, a free flowing 3-inch-diameter mandrel-bent stainless tubing that fuses into a JBA high-flow-through muffler, and a 3-1/2-inch-diameter stainless exhaust tip that finished off the kit. |
Nick muscled off the factory muffler that was the size of a water heater. The factory rear exhaust section was removed with a restrictive second resonator. |

New JBA exhaust hangers were mounted using the factory locations. |
A new JBA high-flow-through muffler was mounted with the new JBA mounting brackets. |

Nick installed the 3-inch-diameter tailpipe with a 3-1/2-inch stainless tip. |
Wes spun the rear wheels on the DTS dyno to record the horsepower and torque gains after installing the JBA enhancing exhaust components. |

Next, Wes retrieved the impressive dyno data from the DTS dyno. The before stock horsepower (green), stock torque (blue) and after JBA header, cat-back horsepower (red), and torque (orange). Peak gains were 27.3 hp and 19 lb-ft of torque. |
To achieve a better air and fuel mixture, we installed a CGS air-intake system, a 3-1/2-inch-diameter stainless air tube with airflow sensor bung, connecting sleeve, mounting bracket, and cotton-pleated wire-mesh air filter and mounting hardware. |

The factory 5.7L V-8 Hemi air intake tube with multiple bends create high and low pressure areas, which causes turbulence that restricts the air flow velocity. The factory hose clamp was loosened to remove the S-shaped air tube, linking the massive airbox to the air intake manifold. | |
