Taking a look at the rear of the Tundra, the TRD dual exhaust kit looks right at home.
Last month we showed you how to really make a Tundra 5.7L scream with the addition of a TRD supercharger. Pumping out over 500 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque, Toyota's fullsize truck can literally launch you into your seat. With more air coming into the V-8, it makes sense to add a better exhaust to help expel that rush of combustion. Enter TRD once again with its new dual exhaust kit specifically designed for the Tundra. With a high-flowing muffler, mandrel-bent exhaust pipes, and good-looking oval tips, the kit is a great addition to the Tundra. We tagged along as Green Toyota in Springfield, Illinois, installed the latest exhaust system from TRD. From The Driver Seat
Exhaust systems are great. Typically, they bolt right on and add performance, good looks, and a nice rumble. The TRD Tundra kit didn't disappoint as the quiet rumble at idle was barely noticeable, yet at wide open throttle, the 5.7L really came to life.
On the dyno, 5 more peak hp was recorded, which may not seem like much, but with the addition of the supercharger, the Toyota is putting down a legitimate 510 hp. Installing the exhaust was simple, with our only snag being the test truck was equipped with lift leaf springs and the tips had to be bent down slightly to clear. The oval tips finished off the kit nicely. It is a little pricey, but it will be the last exhaust you ever have to buy for your Tundra.
