From The Driver SeatWith the lift kit installed and the intake and exhaust bolted on, we went on a testdrive to see how our newly customized Ford rode and performed. We were impressed with the ride of the Bulletproof kit, though the springs did feel a bit stiff, and the 40-inch Toyo tires definitely made some noise. Braking is our biggest concern right now, as the truck has a hard time slowing down with the factory hardware. The Super Duty did positively respond to the intake and exhaust with a quicker spool-up time and a hearty exhaust note, which was now roaring from the 6.0L. Our biggest complaint would be the overall price tag for the transformation, and the fact that this particular Bulletproof kit did not come with any instructions, and everything did not fit perfectly the first time. We found ourselves scratching our heads more than we should have. We chalked it up to the price of running with the big dogs, and with a 12-inch lift and 40s, who needs to be any bigger, right? The vinyl graphics seen in the photo were immediately added after the shoot and match the boat this truck pulls to the river.
