 2007 Chevy Silverado Buildup After

You all know the scenario: Your new truck looks just like the one down the block and you want a little extra something for your weekend hauler. Bulletproof's new 8-inch kit was the thing to fix that problem on this '07 Silverado 4WD. Its kit is a little taller than the typical 6-inch kit, but it also looked very solid. We hauled the truck full of Bulletproof Suspension parts to 714 Motorsports in Westminster, California, along with an intake and exhaust from Volant and some brand-new rolling stock from Toyo Tires and RBP. Check out the install as the crew at 714 Motorsports got the truck in and out of the shop in one day.

We began with an '07 Silverado Crew Cab, fresh off the dealer lot.

The Bulletproof Suspension 8-inch kit included a one-piece cage, coilover drop downs, upper control arm tie-in brackets, and steering rack linkage.

Getting down to business, the truck's front suspension lost its brakes before the halfshafts and lower A-arms got the impact wrench treatment.

Next came the sway bar.
2007 Chevy Silverado Buildup Lower Front Suspension
Here's the lower half of the front suspension after it was removed from the truck.

The two bolts holding the upper A-arm were removed and the coilover was unbolted from its perch.
2007 Chevy Silverado Buildup Remove Crossmember
Step one of removing the front differential was to unbolt the front driveshaft, then the center of the crossmember was dropped out.

An impact wrench was used to unbolt the differential from its mount.
2007 Chevy Silverado Buildup Cut Crossmember
Now, with plenty of room to work, the crossmember was cut 1-inch inboard of the rear lower A-arm mounting holes.
