The A-arm/knuckle/halfshaft assembly was loosely fitted into the drop bracket. |
Next, the upper arms were mounted, the steering was connected to the knuckle, and the front driveshaft was reconnected. |

While new coilovers are optional, this kit retains the factory piece. This drop bracket moved it down into place. |
The transfer case skidplate was removed and the transmission crossmember was drilled to mount the impact bars. |

With longer, stainless steel brake lines added, the front was almost done. |
The final piece for the front was the dropped anti-sway bar. All of the bolts were tightened up, then we moved to the rear. |

We went with the optional Fox Racing Shox remote-reservoir shocks and Atlas springs, rather than blocks. They simply bolted in place of the factory springs. |
The Volant exhaust bolted on behind the catalytic converter and included this flexible, woven stainless steel joint, which was just like the factory piece. |

Volant's muffler took up a lot less space than the huge muffler that came equipped on the Chevy, so there were no clearance issues whatsoever. |
Like everything else on the exhaust kit, the band clamps that held each piece together were stainless steel. |

The exhaust ended with a polished tip that exited on the passenger side. |
Volant's cold air intake kit came with all of the clamps, plus the PCV tube, and-of course-the airbox, ducting, and filter. |

The molded airbox was bolted into the inner fenderwell using four factory-threaded holes. |
One of the supplied clamps was used to attach the MAF sensor directly to the airbox. |

The new intake duct doesn't have any baffles to disrupt airflow or quiet the rush of incoming air. It attached to the throttle body with a clamp and to the MAF with a silicone coupling. |
The large, conical filter supplied in the Volant cool air kit will provide a more dust-catching capability. |

All buttoned up, the Silverado was ready to be started. We could finally enjoy the added power and sound of the free-breathing 5.3L. |
35x12.5R20 Toyo Open Country M/Ts have an aggressive look, but are still easy to balance. The RBP wheels helped to give the lifted truck a heavy-duty attitude. |
