2008 Chevy Silverado Suspension Upgrade - Airbags + Toolbox = Laid Out Chevy

After drilling out the lower control arm coilover mounting bolts, Brian secured the two lower airbag bolts to the control arm.

With the front air line ran and the Ground Force 2-inch lowering spindle in place, it was time to see how the front suspension worked. This photo shows the airbag fully inflated.

One press of the switch and the truck was sitting nice and low. It was now time for the rear suspension where the guys were ready to install the KP six-link.

Out of the box, the KP Components six-link and Watts link was powdercoated black. Everything needed to install the rear suspension was included.

First off, the electrical harnesses and fuel filler was disconnected, then the bed was lifted off and set aside.

After the axle was supported by a jack, the rear shocks and factory leaf springs were removed.

Using his Hyperthem plasma cutter, Joe Conduff blasted off the factory leaf spring perches.

With the flat frame exposed, Brian was able to set the KP rear mounting bracket in position and drill the necessary holes. Most of the factory bolt locations were used, but some new holes had to be drilled.

Brian then used the included hardware to bolt the bracket in place. As you can see, the KP bracket was very sturdy and fit well.

The lower `bag bar was then installed onto the bracket. Up next, the Slam Specialties airbag was placed on the bar and secured.

Mounted around the axle using two large U-bolts, the KP axle mounting bracket was secured and the wheel-size-specific dog bone that merges the two pieces was also secured.

Brian then installed the new Varishock to the new lower shock mount on the KP airbag bar and upper mount on the new KP frame bracket.
