This 1959 Chevrolet Apache is definitely the senior citizen of this group, but just because it’s a little older doesn’t mean grandpa can’t dance. Wes Drelleshak’s old-school hauler is powered by a built 383 stroker with a trick headlight cold air intake, Voodoo crank, H-beam connecting rods, 10.5:1 pistons, AFR 195 heads, a Quickfuel 650 CFM carburetor, and an Edelbrock 7501 manifold. The built mill exhales through Hedman headers, and through a Flowmaster HP2 muffler. The truck features a No Limit front end with Currie trailing arms and Johnny Joints, a RideTech T/A system, and Weld Racing wheels shod with 295/40-18 Falken Azenis tires front and rear. Unlike most of the other entries at this year’s Throwdown, this Apache has a manual transmission, a TKO-600 5-speed manual beefed up with carbon synchros, bronze shift forks, and a Centerforce DYAD clutch.
